Boycott Nestlé

As you probably know, Nestlé makes baby formula, among other things. What the Nestlé company is doing is going into developing countries and giving free baby formula to expectant mothers and mothers with infants. Sounds charitable, right? Wrong. Nestlé gives these mothers just enough formula to last until their natural breast milk (which is better for the baby anyway, although the mothers are often not aware of this) runs out. Then, with the mothers dependant on the formula to feed their babies, Nestlé announces that there will be no more freebies and begins charging the mothers for their formula. Often the mothers cannot begin to afford the formula, and many infants starve to death.

Nestlé has been confronted regarding this information and has admitted to doing it. To them, it's just business, and they don't care in the least that their business is probably responsible for an incredible number of infant deaths in third-world countries.

I implore all of you to stand with my teacher and myself in boycotting products sold by Nestlé. This includes Hot Pockets/Lean Pockets/Croissant Pockets/ etc., and both Stouffer's and Contadina brand products, which are both owned by Nestlé. (Stouffer's makes Lean Cuisine TV dinners, as well as stuff under its own name.) It also, obviously, includes candy bars such as Butterfinger, Nestlé Crunch, Payday, and 100 Grand, as well as Wonka brand candies (such as Runts and Nerds). Nestlé also makes ice cream cones (the kind you buy in boxes at the supermarket), which are sometimes sold by local vendors and your ice-cream truck. If you're not sure, please ask whoever is selling the product whether it is manufactured by Nestlé corporations.

Please, also, pass this information along to all you meet. Together, we can stop this horrendous exploitation.
